I cut a nerve in my index finger a month ago. Got surgery, wore a cast for 4 weeks. But now the cast is off and I want to start strenght training again, but I'm not sure how, as my finger is still sore and kinda weak... Do you have any suggestions???

And yes, I will see my doctor in two weeks, so I can ask him some questions then, but in the mean time I'd like to get moving...

I'm sure plenty of you have had to deal with this kind of situation. Just looking for some insight...

Thanks!!

Maybe you could get an inexpensive resistance band? I use one and it's helped me start to build muscle.
This site has a list of exercises you could try: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/strengthening/resistancebands.php

I was given a band by the doctor when I broke my wrist. "Theraband" I think.

Your doctor should give you one, or if you have to pay then maybe an ebay search.

Resistance bands are great. I used them when I dislocated my shoulder several years ago. I would try then and ask the doc. Happy healing!
