So im thinking in investing in one of those, but being a student my budget is pretty limited.
Can anyone (in the UK) recommend a cheapish heart rate monitor? im not looking for anything fancy anyway, just something to work out an estimate really when MFP cant do the job.

I am not sure if you can order from Amazon.com but I just got a polar FT4 from there for under 75$.

You don't want to go to cheap, it won't be accurate. Make sure you get one with a chest strap. I have a Polar HRM.... love it. It cost me 80 bucks here in the US

If you just want a HRM without calories then Tesco do them for £20, or

I didn't find anything with calories burned for less than £40 though.
  • I got a Polar f4 from someone on Craigslist. I lucked out! It was still in the box, brand new. I purchased it for $30.00. I would recommend this hrm! I would have spent $80.00 on it!

    Good luck!

I've got a HRM watch you can have for a donation to my great south run fundraising for the RNLI, www.justgiving.com/Jeffrey-clark2

Search Amazon They have really cheap chest strap ones for around 30 - 40 bucks US. I would suggest to get one with a calorie counter on it. That way you will be able to accurately count your calories instead of the MFP system giving you a guess.

polar ft4 if you are doing general activity

Garmin 305 if you are running ( a bit more expensive and only really works for running BUT does lots f cool stuff.)
