Have your daily calorie goal set to the minimum of 1200? Just curious! I know that for my weight and height and all that good stuff I should be eating like 1500 but I set my goal to the 1200.. I mostly ALWAYS go over but I am still under my 1500 cals a day. I find it easier for me to stay below the 1500 because when I see those red negative numbers im like OH NO!! lol

Funny.....I do the exact same thing as you. It's awesome when I do stay at the 1200 but I dont fret too bad unless I go over 1500. The red is def a signal for me to slow it down or stop for the day.

Mine was at 1250 when I started (auto setting according to the parameters I keyed into 'goals'). Got hungry often at the start then I got used to it. Now I've reached my target MFP reset it to 1850, but I was putting on weight again. Manually reset it to 1500, which seems like a real luxury after 1250, and my weight's stabilized again. I think you just have to jiggle the figures if what you get automatically doesn't suit you (people are all different, as are their diets and exercise programs.)

I was 1200 for like 3 weeks and did not see any difference. I am now 1310, but sometimes I go over by 100-150 c and sometimes I am under 1200. But I do strength training +cardio 3-4 times a week, run 1-2 a week. so as long as my net calories are 1200 I am fine. Really hard to get rid of last fat...

Mine is set to 1200, I have put my weight loss at 1.5lb week though so it reduced my calorie intake. I haven't found it too hard to stick to, just the occasional day when I would like more lol.

I do the same. I know I will see a small loss if I stick to 1200 cals, but I also know that if I bump that up to 1400ish I see a better loss. So, I set my goals to 1200, keep my main snacks and meals within that range, and adjust for treats and beers. As long as I stay under 1500 I'm golden, but if I "allow" myself 1500 calories a day, I go over more often. It's totally a mental thing to set it that way, and I'm okay with that.

lol that is funny! I thought I was the only one who thought that way! If i go over like 100 cals im not freakin out but anymore than that and i try to stop for the day lol

I was on 1200 cals/day for a few weeks, but then I stopped losing the weight. I manually upped it to s1400, and have been losing 1 lb/week every week since then.

true! I know if I were to actually eat 1500 cals everyday I would not lose a lb. I probably wouldnt gain! but I wouldnt lose either. My body is so finicky!

ugh yea I have that problem with carbs! Also, I hate it when you eat alot of fruit for the day your sugars are freakin sky high! Even though I was told not to worry about it because its good sugar.. I hate seeing it on my food diary!

those occasional days where you want more are actually good for weight loss, in my opinion. Back in the beginning of 2010 I lost 30 lbs and my weight loss would drastically slow down.. then I would have a "cheat day" and the next week I would lose like 2-3 lbs like nothing! so strange!

Same here, except I did 1200 for 2 months and since I wasn't eating enough ("starvation mode") it sent me into a long two month plateau until I started eating more.

This is exactly how I think! If I set it to 1500 I will eat more and end up going over. But if I set it lower I wont go over, usually ever!

OMG! I would NEVER last through a 2 month plateau! I would go freakin crazy! How did you manage to get through that and not get frustrated and end up giving up? Thats some determination!!! lol I am going to think of you now everytime I hit a plateau!
