 I just found this site from a friend, I think this is what I might need to keep me going. Here is my story. Growing up I played soccer and was pretty active. I never really had to watch what I ate or even how much of it I ate. I had my son Gavin 5 yrs ago. I gained 55lbs with him. I thought that weight would come right off after I had him WRONG!!! boy was I nieve. I was weighing 192 lb when I had him and eventually lost 20 of it pretty quick, but the rest just stayed on until Jan "05" I was on a mission to get my old body back and self esteem. It took me 2 yrs but I got down to 125. I was thrilled I looked better than before I had my son. I kept everything up until this fall, I don't quite know what happend or what lead me to fall out of my routine but I did and I gained weight back and fast at that. I now weigh 151. It was such hard work to get to where I was and I blew it. WHAT a let down! I mean gaining 25lbs in a few months is just wrong. I know it had alot to do with late night eating and no longer working out. My husband and friends think I'm out of my mind and think I'm perfect the way I'am and don't get me wrong I'am thankful for that, but that does not keep me going. Just a quick summary of me and why I'am here. I really need a online buddy to support me on those tough days. I started this whole workout & eating right yesterday. Wish me luck ; )

YOU CAN DO IT!!! Honestly, motivation is the key, and this site is a great place to get it! I am more motivated than I've ever been and I can only thank my many friends here!! I started beginning of November and have lost 12 pounds so far. I have become addicted to working out and feel better about myself overall. I still have another 35-40 pounds left to lose to reach my goal, but I'm on a mission and know that I can succeed! I'm sure you can acheive your goals as well. Good luck and let us know if there is anything we can help with!!

Much like you, I was active all my life... after two kids and keeping 15 lbs after EACH pregnancy, I've found myself stuck at 160+ and I'm just under 5'4"...

I hope to get back to my "New Self" to feel healthy. I used to run everywhere and feel good when running my yearly 10k. Last July, I felt awful running it. What happened? I think it's age. I think every year we all have to work a little harder.

My "New Self" wants to work harder to get back my health! We are in this together!!!

  • Jilly,
welcome! I know what you mean about people telling you you may be crazy...I've heard that a couple of times too. However, if it is what you need to make you feel good, then that is the important thing!!! I totally understand that. This is a great place to be no matter how big or small the goal is.
