After giving up 3 garbage bags full of clothes that no longer fit me, I went clothes shopping today. For the first time in probably 12 years, I was not shopping in the plus size section! I put on a size 16 dress pants and they fit!!! I was able to get them over my once monstrous hips, fully zipped and buttoned! They do fit a bit snug, but I am only 1/4 of the way to my goal weight, so I know that those pants will start to fit looser in no time! I even tried on a knit top in an extra large and it was too big!!! I couldn't believe it. I actually enjoyed trying on clothes. I've always hated clothes shopping. I love this lifestyle change!!!

Absolutely fabulous! You give me hope, because I have approximately the same starting and ending points as you. Maybe I will be out of plus size before Christmas!

Awesome! Same thing happened to me about a month ago..was a great feeling. Now the pants that I bought 14s and 16s are getting big.
  • Same here. I just gave a big box of clothing to the salvation army and most were never worn. Since I lost a little, I love that I am able to shop and have a wide variety of clothes to choose from. So, congrats on your nsv and keep up the good work.

That is awesome! For awhile I dreaded the thought of buying clothes at my heaviest. Now that I'm almost of my halfway point, I actually enjoy it :-)

    Congrats!

I know the feeling. When I was at my heaviest and most insecure I used to shop clothes which was 9/3XL (:O). That's quite big when you are 20... Although they were probably a bit to big just to hide "certain details" I still felt like I needed such big clothes. After a little while of working out and being more sensible about what I ate - I was able to comfortably wear 2XL and so on it went, now I can wear XL(which is a size you can get almost everywhere) without being embarrassed it, of course it depends on the shape and fit of the clothes.
