Cardio for sick days?

How can I burn my daily calories when I am sick? This morning I had some pretty bad stomach issues, and needless to say I was stuck in the bathroom for about three hours all together.
I'm feeling a lot better now, but my stomach is still uneasy. What are some easy, lightweight exercises I can do in order to at least get SOME kind of a burn?

I don't exercise when I am sick. I give myself a break. I know ..not what you wanted to hear.0

Maybe just a walk?0

I've had a horrible cold for almost a week now. It's been so bad that yesterday I had NO voice. I've had a high fever, NO appetite, and I could hardly breathe sitting still (even worse laying down). Therefore, I didn't workout. That means I haven't had a workout in almost a week. :-( I miss it, but I've got to let my body heal before I can workout again.0

yea I would take it really easy. Your body needs all its energy to fight the illness rest and drink lots of fluids0

If you feel better now, walk is probablly the best suggestion.0

I wouldn't do much of anything. You're body is trying to take care of itself by purging it of whatever is making it upset. You need to rest in order for your body to recover from your morning illness.
Not what you want to hear I'm sure. If you push yourself, tho, you're more likely to wear yourself our and just feel crummy longer.0 -
If you feel the need to get some sort of exercise in, I'd take a simple little walk. Don't push yourself, but if you're feeling up to it, I give you kudos! It's hard to burn calories when you're sick.0

You shouldn't exercise if you're poorly. Don't do anything physical till you're feeling well enough.0

If you do cardio when you are sick it will only take you that much longer to become healty again. Also, if you train you wont be able to give it your absolute all so whats the point?0

Get on the elliptical closest to the bathroom and make sure to clean it well after. That was what I did . .lol0

I have to agree with everyone else. I give myself a day of rest if I've had a stomach bug. Depending on which end is suffering the most, I might jokingly refer to that as my cardio. >.>
Your body needs time and rest to finish fighting it off.0 -
I wouldn't do any workouts when I am sick. Your body needs the rest. Hope you feel better.0

Being stuck in the bathroom sick for about 3 hours 1) I consider a workout in and of itself, and 2) makes me not so much with the hungry so I don't worry about exercising because I wouldn't even eat my base calories on these days.0 -
Try sofa squats - let your butt hit the sofa and put all your weight down on it. Don't move. Breathe. Feel free to sleep a little. (You may have to do something like a side plank).0

You're sick. Your body needs to recover. Don't exercise but take a nap instead so that you can get back on your feet sooner. And PLEASE don't go the gym when you're sick. That's a fantastic way to infect people who have immunity issues.0

I would skip it for today. If you're stomach is upset you're likely not eating very much and probably won't come close to hitting your recommended calories as it is. Rest, rehydrate and give yourself a chance to get better.0 -

I am actually eating fine, and I don't have a virus so I'm not weak. I am pretty sure I'm allergic to something I have been eating recently, and I have been bloated LITERALLY every day for the past two weeks or so. I think today my body kind of just went 'enough!' and emptied itself out. I'm not bloated anymore, so that's how I came to that conclusion, haha.
I just don't want to push myself to the point where my body decides to do it again...0 -

1. I would never go to the gym when I had a virus, that's so rude! do people do that? Plus it's a good way to get even MORE sick.
2. I probably should have clarified that I do NOT have a virus, so I am not worn out and I am not contagious. I had an allergic reaction, basically.0 -

Because some burn is better than no burn at all. Some days I am very tired, and I know I won't do my best, but I still work my hardest. I don't think feeling bad is ever an excuse to not do something... Well, I guess it depends on how sick you are. I don't actually have a virus, I just had a bad allergic reaction.0 -

Awe, I hope you get better soon! That really sucks Mine isn't that bad fortunately, I just had an allergic reaction to some food.0 -
I get what your saying but if youre sick youre only able to put so much in to the workout and it will take you longer to heal, meaning it will take longer for you to give it your all. In other words, you are working against your own body. Youre free to do what you want but you should be aware of this.0
