Do you periodically perform this strength test? Where do you range on the charts? I think I'm going to talk to my trainer about it this week.

All the lifters on here and no one does the 1RM strength test?

I don't think there actually are very many hardcore lifters on here. I don't do the strength tests. I do split days of lifting at 3 times a week and do low reps, high weight and go until failure... i don't really care how much I can bench in one rep.

I didn't see this as strictly for hardcore lifters, I figured it would be a good way to bench mark progress, similar to a bf% test is a good way to bench mark progress or measuring your vo2max periodically.

I'm reasonably sure I saw angels the first time I tried a 1 RM bench press.

I tend to just use my estimates 1RM based upon the following formula from Jim Wendler.

    Weight x Reps x .0333 + Weight = Estimated 1RM

I've tested my 1RM before on bench press and overhead press but not the others. Deadlifts are always the hardest for me on the first 2-3 reps and squats I don't like going to failure on but I've estimated those based on 1RM calculators. I've never done power clean or snatch before.
I got intermediate on bench press, overhead press and deadlifts, novice on squats - I don't really use sites like that though to determine how well I'm doing though. As long as I'm improving, I'm happy.
