Yes, I am sorry, but I am wondering about this.
I started MFP while on my summer holiday. Relaxing most of the time, but I log my exercise. so i set it as sedentary. i go back to work in a couple weeks. I work with small children. 15 toddlers. 8 hrs a day. I was planning to change it to lightly active, which would bump my calories up I am guessing. I will be awake much earlier in the morning, so i anticipate being hungrier.
so, leave it sedentary? bump to lightly active?
what would you do?

I would bump it, based on my experiences. But this sort of thing takes a little trial and error to fine tune to yourself...0

Are you losing weight at an acceptable rate at the current setting or not? Seems like that would really be the deciding factor.0

I competely agree! Try bumping it up for a week or two and see how you do with it. The whole weight loss experience is trial and error anyways!
Best of luck!0 -
I work with 8 two year olds, I've moved mine up to the lightly active... Plus I'm a student, I still consider my daily life style to be lightly active0

I'm just guessing too of course, but I agree, I would bump it up to lightly active and give yourself a good 2-3 weeks to see if you're still losing weight. If not, try making adjustments. Good Luck!0

I would put it at lightly active--you will be more hungry with all of the extra exercise. Good Luck back at work.

You have 80lbs., to lose right?
Keep it at sedentary and count the extra calories burned as an added bonus for your weight loss. Unless you're *famished*, I don't see why you'd increase calories and lose at a slower rate, especially since you can handle a higher deficit at your current weight. If you had 30lbs. to lose, I'd feel differently, but since I've BEEN THERE, I say keep doing what you're doing until you near a healthy BMI!

I would bump it up. Working with toddlers definitely expends more calories than being listed as sedentary.0

15 toddlers? Insanely active setting?0

bump it up. and remember, the 1st week your body will be adjusting so you may not see any change (if youre like me you may even gain a tiny bit) but by week 3 if you haven't seen a change you like, try custom setting for a number between the 2 levels and see if that works, you may even need to try the active setting.0
