So today I had a bad day....

my coworkers were sweet enough to throw me an early birthday party (I'm a boxing day baby) and they bought me a cake (darn) and cashews (my weakness), so I thought the day was a bust, I stopped counting calories, but I realized that I could turn the day around and ate a great supper...only ended up going over by 250 calories (no so bad) today

this site has helped me sooo much, I look at food way differently now.

one thing I think I do need to do is let my coworkers and friends know about my weight loss journey, so these types of things won't happen again (Fruit is a great brithday treat with an angel food cake)

So far I've only let my family know about my efforts (They have been great and very supportive), but I guess I need to let everyone know to avoid these slip ups again....How have you told your friends or coworkers polietly that you are trying to eat healthier and lose some weight??

gosh, cashews are totally my weakness too.

i'll be honest - i tend to be too embarrassed to tell other people and i have just finished gaining a bunch of weight so i'd rather lose it and let people notice on their own

i think it's a good idea to tell others if it will help you be more accountable

Happy Birthday... and way to turn things around!

I just told my supervisor today nicely. When I do my travel days he sits at my desk and alternates between fully loaded sub sandwiches or take out mexican food and he throws it away in my trash can and when I return to my office I about die craving this food I smell; sooo... I joked with him today and asked what it was he hand and explained that I had to move the trash to another container because it smelled soooo good I was tempted to throw my diet to the wind and order a Chimichanga. He laughed and apologised.
