i put 6 TABLEspoons of TILDA uncooked brown basmati rice in the pot and boiled it (without any oil then added a tsp of salt)... i got 20 US tbsp (the regular ones).
I ate 10 TABLEspoons
How many calories is that i am suffering because i have no measuring tools and every website says something different...
i am emphasizing "tilda" because different brands have different calories
CAN SOMEONE please tell me how many calories i had and explain the math a bit?? please be accurate...
THANKYOUUU in advance it says on the label per 100g uncooked rice= 354 KCAL oh and it's not a heaped tbsp it's ok
I ate 10 TABLEspoons

I rely heavily on Google calculation charts and have memorized many oz. = grams, etc. etc. It's a fun game after you catch on, I don't have a formula for you just a memory.
Maybe this helps at least a bit:
2 T = 1/8 cup
4 T = 1/4 cup
8 T = 1/2 cup
3 teaspoons = 1 Tablespoon0 -
Ok, after doing some research and math of my own, I found an entry for 100g of uncooked Tilda brown basmati rice (you have to do a little searching, but it was just on Tilda-Brown Rice).
You had 6Tbsp, so convert that to grams and it is 85.41g. Since you ate half of that, that's 42.705g. So if you change the serving size to 1g and the servings to 42.705, that should give you how much you ate.
Sorry for it being so longwinded, but hope it helps!0 -

Perfect!! but now i have onee more question you guys.... what got me SERIOUSLY confused in the first place is that uncooked rice in grams isnt the same as cooked (boiled) rice in grams
so since i had 43 grams of uncooked rice, how many cals are in that when it's cooked without oil?
or is it the same?? :S oh my... sorry for the confusion but knowing this would help me in the future0 -
If you're just boiling the rice in water and nothing else, the calories of the rice doesn't change. The only thing that does change is the volume of the rice (since it sucked up all the water while cooking). Hope this helps!0
