Over the last weeek I've been eating my 1200 calorie goal or just below and exercising lots. I had one splurge day, in which I didnt really splurge at all! My scales say I've put on 3kg or 6.6 lbs putting me almost back where I started! Can this be right?! or are my scales wrong?

It would be incredibly disappointing if it as indeed right. This afternoon, I am going out to buy a tape measure!

It's pretty unlikely that you managed to put on 3kg in a week - you would have to eat a SERIOUS amount of food to do that.
It's more likely that your scales are wrong or that you're retaining water due to the change in diet/exercise routine or just a regular cyclical change.
Make sure you are eating the right amount (not too little, not too much) and remember that if you are exercising that your body will need extra nutrition, so make sure you aren't too far under your net calorie goal each day.
The tape measure is a great idea, I wish I'd taken more measurements earlier on.
    Good luck!

Hormonal fluctuations can account for some of this, water weight as well. It can be disheartning but if you are consistently eating below your calories and doing the exercise it will right itself. Don't be discouraged! Also - are your scales on a flat, hard surface? Many people put theirs on carpet and that can cause innacuracies.

    Best of luck!

    Do you track your sodium?

You might want to start if you don't.

Also, are you drinking enough water?
