My middle two toes go numb on my left foot when I'm running, or wearing softball cleats.
I'm not sure what it is... It's always happened to me, so I'm just used to it. There is no pain, so I guess I just ignored it.0 -
It happens to me when I use my elliptical. I've tried different shoes, loosening the ties, but it still happens after about 30 minutes. I just keep wiggling my toes to try to get the blood flowing. As soon as I step off it goes away. I'm wondering if it is blood being blocked from getting to my toes because of constantly being on them and not taking the pressure off of them.0

Yes, I had a week or two go by where the two smallest toes on my left foot were constantly numb. I called my doctor's office, as well as did a little research online, and the conclusion I came to was a knot/pinched something in my foot. It really scared me for a few days, because I would wake up and couldn't feel them.
The cause was a pair of Dr. Scholl's shoes that I wear when I do catering, because I am on my feet for hours at a time. I then found out that wearing my normal, comfortable flip flops let the numbness continue, because there was no support. So...I switched to a different pair of flats and then wore my most supportive (and newest) sneakers when I exercised.
Also, I did a little self-massage to my foot every time the numbness came back. I've ditched the Dr. Scholl's in every day wear and have not had a problem since.
So, my question to you is, how old are your shoes? Consider investing in a new pair that doesn't already know the "impression" of your foot. It sounds like you might be hitting a muscle or nerve as you work out.
Best of luck!0 -
I have the same issue. I did use a different machine and noticed that I worked out longer and had no numbness at all. This other machine had a different motion than the regular machine. Not sure if it's a bad thing or not.0

My shoes are only about 2 months old and they are fully broke in so im not sure!!!!0 -
It used to happen to me as well even though my shoes fit fine too. It only happened when I exercised so I suspected the shoe rather than a medical condition. I ended up buying different shoes that were not as narrow of a fit at the toe area and viola....no more numbness. The shoes that I used to get numbness in were ones that I bought at a running store and had fitted by the person who worked there; expensive good shoes.0

Yup! Only happens when I use one particular elliptical machine. It doesn't happen with running or anything else. I assumed it was because of my epidural lol but I just wiggle my toes and keep going.0

I have had this too. I had it a lot more when I first started working out at my heaviest. I found as I lost weight it happened less and less. What I would do while I was on the Elliptical is lift that leg and rotate it up around. ((Its fun being on the elliptical on one leg for a moment, really made me use my arms)) Shake out the leg and then get going again. I think its the pressure, but the shake out really helped me. Or i just ignored it. Good luck.0

Thank you guys.. i googled it and it does have to do with poor circulation or it said it could be neroputhy or some other kind of condition so i for sure am gonna talk to a doctor and have any medical issues ruled out and hopefully thats not the case.... but thank you very much for your input!!!!0
