i dont know what i expect from myself or my body. after the 1st week of making changes i was down 6lbs. towards the end of my 2nd week i went on vacation for a few days. when i returned home i was up 3lbs, then next day up 2 and then weigh in on wednesday i was up 1lb. i weighed myself today, which i am starting to dislike, and no change. lol i dont know what i expected to see. i dont want to be totally strict with myself because i know i will crave and go mad. my mood has also changed big time. i feel sad or depressed. i have so much to lose, and i am sick of losing and gaining the same frickin pounds. i had lost 20lbs earlier this year just to gain 27. the thought of exercising 2 hours a day doesnt sound appealing right now even though i did it late last year and lost 20lbs in 3 months. guess i need motivation. need some friends who will rip me apart and critisize my food and exercise diary.

I think you and I sound alike!! I need to lose and this time KEEP IT OFF! I'm on a 2 day "good" spree, but its my anniversary and tonight is dinner and wine so I will be cheating. I'll be good all day, though!!
Friend me and lets do this together!!!! Starting tomorrow....hahahaha0 -
Well Dear, I am no one to criticize...but losing weight should be a time to feel fantastic about yourself not sad and depressed. I know we need all the support we can get during this time. Please feel free to add me as a friend and I will be here for you every pound of the way!!0

Ok slow down there.
First, knowledge is POWER. You should understand that your body weight fluctuates EVERY DAY (water weight, food you ate, clothes, etc etc). FAT LOSS you cannot see on a scale on an every day basis. Weigh yourself once a week, in the morning after using the bathroom, and as naked as you can be! Weighing every day is not a measure of success. Also, when you have a lot to lose, the first few weeks would be WATER weight loss. So you might expect 5-6 pounds lost on week 1 and then it'll slow down to 2 lbs per week.
Second, what motivates you? Are you really motivated by CRITICISM? Do you want someone to TEAR your eating apart or do you want to LEARN how to eat healthy and make healthy choices. So think about what it means to be healthy. Do some research on what healthy eating is! (I.e. for snacks and apple VS chips, for dinner LEAN MEAT vs FATTY MEAT) etc etc
Finally, If this is to be a long-term weight loss, 2lb/week is healthy AND best! There are NO QUICK WINS here. If you want to lose the weight and keep it off, think about it this way. If you make small changes you can LIVE WITH and end up losing 1 lb a week, sure that seems like a little. But at the end of ONE YEAR you'll have lost 52 lbs and you didn't really have to "suffer" through a restrictive diet.
Basically, I think you need to rethink your goals and what you will be happy with. Are you being reasonable with your expectations?
Hope this helps.0 -

hi, all and thanx for replying. i know weight flucuates throughout the day. i went on vacation last friday and returned home monday evening. the only reason i weighed myself when i did was because i wanted to see what the damage was from the weekend. my normal weigh ins are wednesdays so i think my spazz is realistic since i gained 1lb in a week, with 2 awful days. as for the critcism i am very sarcastic and no i really didnt mean that lol. i think i might just be having a day of anger from realizing where i am today vs where i was mid january.0
