Has anyone actually tried a fitbit? I saw it on TV a week or so back and I'm kind of curious about it. $100 seems quite expensive for what appears to be an elaborate pedometer.

I am addicted to my fitbit. I have had mine since November. It's a pedometer but it also tells me calories burned and miles walked. It uploads to your computer and you get graphs of your progress.
I am a sucker for data so it's perfect for me. I find it motivating to try to beat my past activity levels/steps. The other week I was camping and beat my best number for steps by getting 25,000-I was so excited!

It's not for everyone, but if you like data, and are motivated by numbers, I recommend it. Not to mention it was an expensive purchase at $100, but their customer service was excellent, and when mine broken after a few months (the back snapped off), they quickly replaced it with a new one after I sent them a photo of the broken fitbit. I consider that definetely worth the money.

I know a lot of people who have it and love it! Actually for what it does $100 is cheap compared to other products like body bugg and the similar. You can wear it around the clock other than when it needs a charge (which you can do while at the pc), even upload data without taking it off.
Its something I am planning on getting for myself.

    Thanks~
