C25K Question (Week 5)

I just finished Week 4 and am looking at the workouts for Week 5.
This is the first week that the workouts are not the same for the entire week.
I feel like Workout 1 & 2 are going to be rough, but that I can complete them.
Workout 3 (20 minute run, no walk), I might not be able to complete.
My question is, If I can't complete it, do I start Week 5 over at Workout 1 or keep trying Workout 3?
Week 6 Workout 1 is back to interval runs, and not a solid run.
Thanks!

hmmmmmm
im doing the C2 10K....... week 3........
I would say that so far the training has been in prep for the 20min none stop........... and if you have done it right, i guess you will be more than fine...... and will do it.
if......for some reason you dont or cant............ i would actually say go back a week and repeat that so you build up and then hit this week again............
the none stop is the goal really.
GO FOR IT.......... set a pace that you are happy with.......... SPEED WILL COME LATER !! your not trying to win a race, this is for you, so just go for a steady pace0 -
I am at the same place, but I think I am going to just go for it see how long I can go. We might just surprise ourselves. I know when I find it hard, I keep saying to myself puke faint die or keep going over and over until I am done. I also try to just think about the song on, the stuff in the windows (I run at an outdoor outlet mall) anything but the running. I do think it is very much in our minds that we can't do it, just take the mind part out and you will do it.0

i just completed c25k three weeks ago, i literally went from the couch to the treadmill and i completed this at 239lbs, when i saw week 5 i did the same thing you just did, i could not believe that i was expected to run 20min without stopping., truth is it sceared me bec i actually pushed myself all the way up to week 5 and then i was like omg how do they epect me to do this? i was upset about it bec i was doing it and now i felt i could not do it.
long story short, i did it. WITHOUT STOPPING.
it only looks intimidating, just take a few breaths know that you can do it and will do it bec you made it this far, its not im going to give it a try, its DO IT.
i told myself im not going to quit, im not going to stop,im not going to repeat the wk, im not going to talk myself out of it, i put on my headphones put one foot in front of the other BREATH and your done.
its just a mind game you can do it, its like the first time you kissed a girl, your heart was abt to beat out of your chest, hand were sweaty, stomach felt funny, the whole time your thinking omg...
YOU CAN DO THIS.i hope you get me. basically it just looks sceary put on your headphones and ace week 5.
keep me posted.0 -
If you can't complete it, I would just keep trying that day, rather than restarting the whole week.
BUT. You will surprise yourself, I think, with what you can do. I was anxious about W5D3 as well...and I definitely was shocked to realize that I COULD run for 20 minutes (and probably a few longer at that point). After W5D3 I actually started resenting the walk breaks in Week 6, because running straight through was actually easier for me now. I just didn't expect that at all.
So try to keep a positive attitude and really push yourself. If you don't make it on the first go, there's no shame in that - just keep plugging away and you will get there!0 -
Push through it! You have suprised yourself so much with what you have accomplished... a 20 minute run would be an excellent thing to ad to your NSV's!!! I know you can do it.. just don't think about it.. pace yourself and your breath and run it out . They push the 20 minutes on purpose and to not get that workout value will be a bummer. I know you can do it!0

I repeated Week 3 - 3 times. I was developing shin splints and had to keep working up slowly. Stayed in the grass where the local high schools do their cross country runs and eventually moved past it.
Point is, if you cannot complete a workout then you should repeat that week and I believe that is what the site would tell you to do as well. Either way, congrats on making it to Week 5! That 20 minute run at the end looks tough but just go slow and you should be able to make it. If not, no big deal just try again next week.0
