Hi,

I am new here and I am definitely going through all the wonderful posts designed for newbies, as well as just general posts. However, I do have a question and really couldn't wait...

I used the Tools to find my BMR and it calculated around 1700, but my Goal Calories are 1320 (lightly active, plan to workout ~5x/week). Should I be eating the BMR or the Goal Calories designed by MFP???

Go with the goal. When they set your goal for you, it tells you what you plan to lose each week. That goal should give you the deficit of calories to equal the weight you want to lose. We have to have a deficit of 3500 calories for 1 pound. Good luck to you!

So after reading a little more, I think I understand.....

Although my BMR is ~1,700, my daily caloric intake should be ~2300 (got this off another website).
I wanted to lose 2lbs per week, which means I need to to create a deficit of 1,000 calories/week, which (I'm guessing) is how MFP calculated that my Goal Calories should be ~1,300.

    Does this sound right??
