I'm always looking for suggestions to add to my workout playlist. I need jams to keep me going since I can't read and walk at the same time (haha) and TV doesn't keep me motivated. Please specify the artist and the song name. Thanks in advance!

My absolute favourite jogging song is Canned Heat by Jamiroquai. I don't know why, but the beat matches my stride almost exactly.

Look for songs that match your cadence. I find "Kashmir" in all its various forms and "Paper Planes" by Mia sync perfectly. I snap those in when I'm exhausted to get me the extra mile.

I like to listen to 80's music when I workout! It really keeps me going for some weird reason!

That is supposed to be the top songs.
I prefer fast beat stuff, like electronica.
If you want to try that, I'd suggest Skrillex, Deadmau5, anything remixed, I bought a Now Club Hits CD and I love it.
Though I can't drive with it on, or I speed like crazy.

    Turbulence - Steve Aoki
    Saturday - Basshunter
On to the Next One - Jay-Z
Rock n Roll (Will Take You To the Mountain) - Skrillex
Funk (Bloody Beetroots Mix) - Etienne De Crecy

Also, try 8tracks.com. To your right, you can categorize playlists made by others by genre. You can combine genres as well.

On the treadmill at home, I actually love to watch music videos, it gives me both something to watch and something to listen too. Of course it isn't easy to find them anymore!

But maybe you could get a DVD of your favorite artist live or something?

Thanks everyone! I guess I'll put my own list on here as well in case anybody else needs inspiration or wants to mix it up (generally I do cardio on the treadmill and I've included a few slower songs that work well for warm-ups and cool-downs):

    I'm On A Boat - The Lonely Island f. T-Pain
I'm Shipping Up To Boston - Dropkick Murphys

Born This Way - Lady Gaga
Club Can't Handle Me - Flo Rida f. David Guetta

    Don't Cha - *****cat Dolls
    Don't Stop Believing - Journey
    E.T. - Katy Perry f. Kanye West
I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas
Into the Night - Santana f. Chad Kroeger
Let It Rock - Lil' Wayne and Kevin Rudolf
My Michelle - Guns 'n' Roses
Night Train - Guns 'n' Roses
Old Time Rock and Roll - Bob Seger
    Out Tonight - RENT soundtrack
Paris (Ooh La La) - Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

I've been all about mashups lately. My two favs are All Day by Girl Talk and Algotithms by Milkman. Both are free downloads. Google them.

(Mashups are when a dj mixes two or more songs together, like words from one and music from another).

Great song for running about 6.5MPH or a little higher = Matchbox Twenty - How Far We've Come

I can get it to match my stride almost exactly.

Another good one is Outkast - Bombs over Baghdad

I also like old 80 songs - like ABBA songs, e.g., "take a chance on me", it puts me in the mood, interestingly that particular songs was created while one of the members in the band was jogging int the mornings and the beat is from pouding the pavement (at a pretty rapid pace)... and I also like other ABBA songs... it just makes me happy to exercise! can't help it.

I also like Billie Jean and Thriller while exercising and even some real real oldies, like "beautiful sunday" (Daniel Boone) : (makes me happy), itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini LOL and Beach Boys' - Surfing USA :-D
