Don't laugh...

As a joke my husbands aunt gave me a shake weight she somehow came across. 2.5lbs. Do they actually work?

You (and your husband) will have more fun if you shake his weight instead...same results.

At least you didn't laugh
Didn't think it actually worked, but figured since it was free couldn't hurt.

    I'm betting that's just a convenient excuse.

I haven't seen the SNL skit, but I did see a South Park episode... Waaaay off colour, but hilarious! Can't remember the title, but Stan's dad gets obsessed with the Food network. LMAO!!!

I use one all the time. My arms and whole upper body, not to mention my core, has improved TREMENDOUSLY from it. You've seen the commercials. It wears those body builder type guys OUT because it's such a work out. Now, I avoid the gym and I just use my shake weight at home mixed with jumping jacks for cardio.

I hear you have to use it at least 7 hours per day to get those kind of results. That is dedication!! Bravo! :drinker:

I like to vary the positions when I do it. I lift one leg on my kitchen counter and perform the routine. Also, doing it in a deep squat position will give you the lower body workout as well. After about 2 weeks, I can now jerk out all the homemade nut butter I've been saving, with a few simple flicks of the wrist.

I'm thinking of bypassing shake weight use and just working my forearms while observing booty Thursday on MFP.

I use my own shake weight daily, and my arm strength has increased exponentially. Only the left arm though. :(
