Job Change?

Has anyone else made a career change that effected their weight loss? I currently work in a rather fast paced kitchen. Lots of moving and never sitting down. I'm currently interviewing for a job that would be much more sedentary. Basically sitting at a desk all day. I am excited about the new job prospect, as it's a career rather than a job, and am confident I will get it. i'm just a little concerned about that change in my daily activity because of it though.

Thanks

I picked up a much more active job and it drastically improved my fitness level from the sedentary previous job.
Just fit in time for your workout (at home, isometrics, body-weight exercises, office stretches etc) to keep your activity level up.

I'm looking to change my career to become a personal trainer/outdoor instructor so reckon THAT should keep me fit and healthy!

Be sure to watch you calories because you won't burn as much sitting. It is really easy in that environment to pick up some bad habbits, eat lunch out daily with coworkers etc. Use the tools within MFP and you will be just fine :)
  • I think having mfp makes all the difference. You can keep an eye on your calories intake and outtake and adjust your diet/exercise accordingly.
What did I do before I discovered mfp? I got a bit spongy round the edges and didn't seem to be a ble to do a lot about it. After all, it's not a diet is it? It's more a lifestyle, and you might find you need to up your exercise a bit with the new job - but if it's quite desky, you'll have more energy to do that anyway!

I used to go walking on my lunch break for a bit of exercise and then have a quick lunch at my desk afterwards! It helped with that late afternoon sluggish feeling and saved money since I was bringing lunch every day instead of going out :)
