Diary is open to all, i have been relatively successful i think.0

I was exercising, both strength and cardio, but I haven't done that in a month or two, got lazy. I'm still losing just as much if not more weight now though.
Calorie intake varies anywhere from 600 calories a day to 1700 depending on how I'm feeling.
Started around April or May. Down 19lbs so far.
The only rules I have about what I eat are
1. vegan
2. Try to only eat things I'm sure about the calorie content on (as in, avoid restaurants and prepared foods with no nutritional info on them)

I'm just starting out, but things have been going very well for me so far. My diary is open, but all I do is exercise, eat nutrient-rich foods, stay under the caloric goal. When I keep my carbs, protein and fat balanced, I'm not hungry.0

I don't know how helpful someone else's routine will be for you, but I'll give you mine, maybe for some ideas. (Keep in mind, I'm OK with routine, I don't need a ton of variety, and this was when I was in the process of losing, I'm at a maintenance level now, so it's a bit different...) Breakfast was usually two hard boiled eggs and a glass of orange juice, lunch was half a sandwich, usually turkey or ham with a slice of cheese and some miracle whip on somewhat healthy bread. Dinner was different every night and just depended on what the family wanted, but I tried to make it fit my "budget." If we had hamburgers, I only had half the bun, if we had something that had stuffing or mashed potatoes, I just had a little, if we had tacos/burritos, I'd opt for a taco salad instead. Dinner is a toughy to help with because it was my one meal a day that was different, I usually just aimed for portion control for dinner, whatever I could fit in my budget is what I could eat (therefore it had to be somewhat healthy so I could have more than a spoonful!).
I also made sure to allow myself my one evening treat, a cookie, scoop of ice cream, slice of pie, whatever it was, I'd factor that in in the morning so I would be sure to fit it in, if I didn't, I'd feel like I'd cheated myself and eat it anyway, budget or not. I don't drink much soda at all and I did my best to drink my water. As far as exercise, I have an elliptical at home, so I'd use that for approx 35-40. Some weeks I did that 5-6 days/wk, other weeks I'd do that 2-3 times and a Jillian Michael's workout the other days. I would give myself/take a day off1-2 days/week, but still usually do something, just much much less, like a walk or a pilates DVD. I did this for 4-5 months and lost 15 lbs. It probably would have happened faster, but we have a lot of birthdays in the time frame I was trying to do this, so I didn't always succeed on a daily basis, but did my best. Oh, I tried to limit carbs to a reasonable amount (for me, because I LOVE them). I'm at a maintenance level now and figuring out how to maintain. It's not easy, but it's better than trying to lose.
Hope this helps and that you have success in reacing your goals! (Remember, you're young, so make sure you take care of your body! (By the way, I'm a 5'7", medium build and hovering around the 127 mark and feel that I look "right." Good luck!

My diary is open (ignore last weekend, special occasion). This is pretty much how I've eaten and exercised since January. I've lost 26 lbs and met my goal, but still losing slowly. Just going to continue until my body decides it's where it needs to be.
For exercise I do 60 min of Zumba 6 days a week (usually) and 30 min of strength (resistance bands, pushups, squats, lunges, dumbells, etc.)
I basically follow the guidelines set by the Harvard School of Public Health, which incorporates exercise into their healthy eating pyramid.

No shakes or supplements, just good healthy food.0 -

My diary is open to MFP friends if you wish to send me a request. As for how long it took to lose the weight, here is my chart:

Here's a picture I created to help with making smart choices. The more you follow something similar in the bottom photo, the healthier you will feel and the weight will start to come off. Good luck!0 -

Thanks! The bottom photo actually shows a whole day of food for me. Even the cherry tomatoes in the salad are calculated. So for one BK meal... we could be having breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 snacks instead! When someone says that they are hungry even after having 1,200 calories each day, it's quite obvious that they aren't choosing the right foods. It is easy to do when you take it one item at a time. It took me months to have my days look like this!0

this is great! such an inspiration! I love it!!0
