When did you start noticing a big change in your appearance after weight loss? I've only lost 10lbs so far and I know I have a long way to go, but lately I have just been CRAVING results!! I am noticing that my clothes are fitting a lot better and are not as tight, but as far as my overall body appearance, I just can't see anything smaller! The most irritating is my double chin!! I just want it to be gone!! How long did it take you to start seeing results?

After about 15-20 pounds I started noticing my collar bones
  • maybe consider taking a picture...once or twice per month...in the same outfit...at the same place each time....as close to the same pose as possible....you see yourself every day...maybe the camera will pick up something your mind has forgotten
  • Unfortunately it takes at least 15 lbs to notice any sort of difference in your body. Everyone is a little different, but this seems to be the norm. Don't worry it sounds like you are almost there!

20 pounds seems to be where I started seeing little bits here and there, like in my legs, but ultimately I still haven't really seen the results I so badly want to see. Just keep going. Take "before" pictures... then take pictures every so often and look at them side by side... you may see more results than you think. Also, measurements. Take them... apparently most people see results through inches before pounds, although I have yet to test that. I took before measurements, but I'm not doing them again until next month.

Hang in there and keep at it!

Did you take pictures the day you started? If not, take some today. One from the front, and one from the side. 15 pounds later, take the same pictures in the same clothing. I bet you notice a difference :) It also depends on how much weight you have to lose in the first place. You also could have results, but since you see yourself every day, you don't notice. My boyfriend didn't even notice I had gotten smaller until I showed him before and current pictures (we live together) but his mother noticed almost immediately because I only see her once every couple of weeks :)

I noticed a definite change in my body shape when I was down 20...and then down 40. In the interim, I noticed changes in how my clothes fit me..including wearing smaller sizes along the way.

as far as your "craving", perhaps a re-focus would help. Obviously you're doing something right as you've lost 10 pounds already. That's great. But keep in mind that this has to be a new lifestyle...something that you're intending to do for the long run. If you're not in it for the long run, but only for "results", then any results will be fleeting. However, if you are in it for the long run, trust me, the results will come. Stated differently, if you can change your cravings from "results" or "weight loss" to "living a healthier life", I think that might help.

oh, and if you want to see faster results in the hips, legs and butt, start sprinting. I kid you not that about a month or so after I started HIIT with sprint intervals, I noticed a large difference in my rear end.....and it helped with fat burning in other areas as well. make sure you stretch your hips, hamstrings, quads and calves before doing any sprints.
