So I just bought a new HRM so I could really tell what I was burning during insanity. I bought the Polar FT4 and used it for the first time today. I did Plyo cardio circuit and never missed a move and was sweating really good when I stopped.
When I looked at my calories burned it was only 341............. ????? Why do I always see ppl saying over 500??
Oh and I am 5'3" and 121lbs. Does this sound low or right? I just expected wayyyyy more!

It sounds about right. Though, depends on how high your HR gets in the end. You say you never missed a move, is it safe to assume that your form is as correct as it should be each and every time you perform a move? This is technically my 2nd and a half round doing the program, and keeping up with the DVD and keeping with the DVD WITH proper form the whole way through are 2 different things.
Either way, let's assume that you're doing everything properly with proper form and executing the moves in line with Shaun T's team. You could always perform more and much faster in order to get your HR up to an adequate burn to your liking.0 -
My heart rate at the end was 173. I think my form is pretty good. I mean I am a big pile of sweat at the end and it just seems odd that people are saying they walked for that same time and burned more than that HA!0

I went through two rounds of Insanity. I never burned the way that others have. My numbers are more in line with you. Bottom line, is that I just sucked it up and logged it as is. If the numbers were wrong, I would benefit from it, because I was eating back only the calories that it told me. If they were right, I was still in the right place to lose. Don't get discouraged! Even though my burns were lower than what others said, I still got amazing results.0

In the first month I was doing 300-400 and for month 2 i'm doing 400-500. The videos are longer and more intense.0

That sounds about right. I've read a lot of posts that people who weigh 200 lbs will burn more calories than a person who weighs 120 doing the same workout. Your burned calories sounds about right. I'm 5'3, weigh 114 and burn about the same calories as you. Eating the right foods will help you lose faster and drink lots of water. That's where I'm at right now. I've always loved my sweets, but am learning that I can't eat it nearly as often as I like. :-( I'm looking into starting up Insanity here very soon. It looks like a great butt kicker and will do what I need it to do! Have fun with the Insanity DVD's!!0

Thanks everyone!!! Yup I kept reading about ppl burning 700-800 calories and I am thankful I bought the HRM because I always assumed that I was burning at least 500 so would try to eat them back!!! I have already gotten great results I just was shocked at how low of a calorie burn it truly was! SO glad to see I am not the only one0
