A New Approach

I've stalled recently, and in fact, the scale is reading numbers which are going in the wrong direction. So, I'm trying something different. I cut my weight-loss goal to half a pound per week, and I'm planning on eating the number of calories it gives me; no more and no less, regardless of exercise. Some days this will give me ridiculously low net calories and other days (knowing me), I'll just squeak by. Has anyone out there tried this approach with any success? Or am I setting myself up for trouble? Any input will be welcome.
