Starting to get worried

I tried and tried the beginning of this month to lose weight.. But I lost only 1 pound. So last week I stopped exercising.. I started eating more (1600 as opposed to the 1300 before) and began to relax more and bam! 5 pounds lost this week.
What could have caused this loss? My sodium was minimal before so I dont think it's water weight. Is weight loss catching up with me? I'm jumping to weird medical conclusions..
Just looking for possible causes!

When you stop working out, you generally drop some water weight.
When you start again, you will generally get it back.
Not to worry though, as it's water; not fat.0 -
you may have tried to hard. Ate too little, worked out too hard.
1600 is way more reasonable.
Your body rebelled like an insolent teen and crossed it's arms, shook it's head, and said "nope, not letting go of the fat and you can't make me!"
But when you "appeared" to give up and ate more, your teen-fat got bored of being a brat and decided the fat wasn't that fun to hold onto after all.0 -

Love your explanation!0 -
that is an awesome explanation and most likely true. If you go in to starvation mode the only way to fix it is to eat.0

I believe that this is what happened to me. I workout 5 or 6 days a week burning over 500 calories in an hour, never eating those calories and sticking to the 1200. I got a body media fit and realized my calorie deficit is way to big. Trying to work my way up slowly to an acceptable deficit. Adding in 200 calories this week to go to 1400. Probably add another 100 or 200 next week. On days I work, including my workout my calories burned was over 3000, and I was only eating 1200.0
