I'm looking to by a heart monitor or something to help me track how many calories I'm burning, etc.

What is the best fitness aid?

I have a BodyBugg. I love it!!! Tells me how many calories I burn every day and I can see exactly how many calories I burned in my workouts. No guessing or depending on the data base.

I have a body media arm band, which is similar to the body bugg, I love it. It doesn't just track while exercising, it tracks 23 hours a day. My weight loss has been hard and my fat is stubborn, ( I don't have too much to lose) but I have lost 6 pounds since using it!

Polar FT4 or FT7.. or if you can afford it, bodybugg/body media fit.

Stay away from TImex, Sportline, etc.. all are crappy HRM's.

I had a polar HRM for a long time. I really liked it. But after being 6 years old, it started getting unreliable. Kept telling me my HR was zero. Though now I attribute this to it happen mostly in my kickboxing class when I was jumping and stuff and it moving around. I got a body media fit a few days ago for more reliable tracking and so far I love it. I found out, my weight was probably stalled because I had a calorie deficit of over 2000 (days I work at least, I'm on my feet all day and moving) So I am starting to up my calories slowly and se what happens. So if you can afford it I'd go with the body media fit.
