...still messing with my calories & goals... seems last week didn't have enough, now this week too many to eat/drink too much... another adjustment in order! now that i have my normal schedule back, i like the idea of exercising to "earn" any bonus calories :) how do you make this work for you?

I used MFPs calorie suggestion to let me lose 2lb a week. That set me up with 1300 calories. However, I found that I was ravenously hungry with 1300 calories. I tried it for a week or two, but it was terrible.

Once I go over my limit, it's hard for me to resist things. "I might as well, I'm already over calories for the day."

So I manually increased my calorie goal to 1500. That puts me at around 1.6lb loss per week, which is fine with me. I feel like I get plenty to eat. That way I don't get so hungry that I lose control.

I could probably cut that back to 1400, but I like feeling like I have enough room to splurge. At the end of the day, if I have a couple hundred calories left, then it's totally Nutella time! And that makes me happy :D lol

I totally get that! When I was too low, it was like, wth? Then when I had "too many" cals, it was a free-for-all. My goal now is just below 1500. I completely see your point on setting something that works! And it has been working, woohoo! Thanks for sharing your ideas on this. I know lots of newbies trying to find the right the balance. Cheers :drinker: (that is water in them there mugs heehee)
