Honestly, no. If I'm going to have carbonara then I want to have 'proper' carbonara (and for that reason I don't have it that often, but when I do I reaaallly enjoy it!!)
For each person I use:
1 whole egg & 1 egg white
1tbsp grated parmesan
1tbsp double cream
and about 80g spaghetti, plus bacon/lardons.
It's definitely not the healthiest recipe out there, but oh my goodness, so tasty!0 -
Have a lovely recipe for this from the luscious low fat cookbook but i've replaced ricotta cheese with quark to make it even more virtuous...
serves 3
50ml skimmed milk
1 small egg
2 tablespoons quark
1 tbs parmesan
seasonings of your choice
whisk everything together and add to cooked pasta before serving!
221 kcals and 3.4g fat per serviing
enjoy!0 -
Have you tried subbing cream for unsweetened almond milk. It's pretty creamy. I love making carbonara but haven't since I've been calorie counting. I wanna try tho with this sub.0
