Question Concerning Calories

I am a bit confused. . .if my calorie tracker says I get 1200 calories, and I exercise and burn say 600 calories, do I still try to stay under the 1200? When I do, it tells me that I am eating too little. Can someone tell me what I am supposed to follow? Am trying to lose 1.5 - 2 lbs per week, but I have been averaging 1 - 1.5 per week, and staying under. . .very confused.

Use the "search" function at the top of the page and search "eating exercise calories". This question has now been posted three times in the past five minutes.

You can eat the extra calories :) You don't have to eat all of them if you don't want to, but try to stay above your base metabolic rate.

    Good luck!

The way MFP is structured makes it easy - at the top of your main page is a big number that says "calories remaining". Eat that as close to zero as you can and you'll lose weight in a healthy way.

Easy--- not her fault. I see these questions all the time, day after day.... but they are typically from new people, and maybe they dont know about the search function, or maybe they dont know they are called "Exercise Calories" I didnt....

Either way, education is key! Do the search people above have mentioned, and good luck!! :)
