kept their fat clothes (just in case)
When I started losing weight 4 years ago I kept most of my giant fat clothes (just in case I bloated out again). As it became apparent that wasn't going to happen I slowly started to hand them over to the local charity shops keeping a few things, like a pair of jean & a couple of tops (just in case). As I went down each size, the larger clothes finally got given away but I would always keep a few of the last size up clothes (just in case). I am now 96lb down & still have just over 30 to go but my wardrobe & cupboards have still got a few bits & pieces in from each weight stage I have been through. :noway:
It's quite fun to see how big I really was compared to now but I wonder when I will feel totally happy that I am not going to go back to that & get rid of them for good?
so how many of you hang on to the old you in the form of fat clothes?

I used mine as car covers and robes.
ETA: Also, as wind sails.0 -
I got rid of some, but kept my favorites. I haven't had kids yet, so I figure I will eventually need them again0

All of my too big stuff is in the closet Goodwill pile, just waiting for me to take it...I'm not keeping anything that's too big. Don't want to keep that stuff lying around!0

I can tell you I haven't kept any of them because first of all I don't have the room for all the sizes I have shrank out of and I am NOT going back to that size again. I have lost 4 sizes now, and everytime I shrink out of a size I either sell it at a consignment store around the area or give them away. I will not go back to what I was 52 lbs ago.0

I use mine as field clothes when I have to work behind a drill rig. They are way too big for me, but at least I can still use them.0

I will always keep some jeans in the next size up. Some days I seem to expand for no apparent reason, and my regular jeans just don't feel nice. But as far as keeping things just in case I gain weight again? Not really. I actually wish I hadn't kept all my skinny clothes, even though I can fit into them now. So many of them are really out of fashion, or just not appropriate for a 30-year-old mother of two. I should have gotten rid of them years ago.0

kept some in case i get pregnant again after i will toss them all out0

I get rid of them as soon as they are too big.0

I've only kept one pair of dress pants for that both legs in one side "before/after" picture (and a possible burning ceremony afterwards) and a few t-shirts for sleeping/cleaning. Goodwill has already gotten 3 large bags full of clothes from me and I've got a 4th in the works. The rest have gone to hubby for rags.0

I donate everything as soon as it gets baggy.
Otherwise, it seems almost like I'm expecting to get fat again...which defeats the purpose of changing my eating habits to reflect a healthy lifestyle.
Last week I donated FIFTY POUNDS of my old fat clothes. I hope to never gain weight ever again (unless I'm preggers)0 -
I have given about 16 pairs of pants to my mom that I can no longer wear...Mostly 18-20 size. She can wear some of them..but some of them are even too big for her. So she puts them in her pile for Goodwill0

I did the stupid thing of throwing my small clothes away in a clearout...now I'm wishing I hadn't as I can't afford new clothes.
Might have to put them on a hot wash and see if I can shrink them0 -
Not me! They are all gone.0

I am in the process of throwing out my stuff. I have removed the way too big clothes into a pile for goodwill. I wont get rid of everything..cause finances dont allow for a complete purge..but my Christmas present this year is a shopping spree..so come January...that stuff will be gone.
I do not see myself ballooning up again. I have the tools and I know how to use them..so unless someone takes my tools.( cause I gave them up or tossed them away)..I plan to stay at my goal weight for quite some time..0 -
I am not aiming to lose enough weight to warrant a new size of clothes, just fit in the ones I have COMFORTABLY. However, if I did....I would eBay them instead to raise money for my new wardrobe0

I wish I'd kept some atleast. I went from a UK size 20-22 to a size 8-10. And when I'd maintained there for a month I got rid of everything that wasn't size 8-10 apart from a couple of mens t-shirts I could use as bed clothes. I maintained for another 5 months, but the stress of exams pushed my size up. Now I'm at minimum a UK 10 on top, but closer to a 12 on top. And have only a couple of items that fit me on the bottom, but don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe because I don't want to be this weight for long.0
