I don't think it's a good idea to go nuts on the weekends if you're not doing much working out. Pretty sure you will gain weight if you just eat whatever you want (even if it's just two days a week). Is it possible to do some cardio indoors to get a workout in? Also, are there food restrictions for eid that affect what you eat during the weekdays? (Pardon my ignorance!) ... because if you're restricting your calories all week, and then going nuts, I could see some bad binging happening, which would definitely not help your fitness efforts.

I go off limits 1 day. But I try not to go over board in the calories.
  • I don't think that it's okay to let yourself go for every weekend, but I think that a weekend here or there won't kill you. I don't think that you should plan to be bad during the weekends, though. The whole point of calorie counting is so that you can live a healthier lifestyle, not just a healthier week. So personally I'd try to stay on track as much as possible during the weekends, but don't beat yourself up if you let yourself slip. Good luck!

Trust me it doesn't work that way. Going off limits on weekends means a frustraing Monday morning. LOL
Once in a while you might get away with one blow out meal, but not every weekend.
However on the flip side, when I overdid, my scale kinda pushed me and gave me more motivation to do better in the upcoming week. hehe. Go figure.

If it's just for the weekend of Eid, I don't think it would be too horrible. Just be sure to get back on track after that. (Eid marks the end of Ramadan, which is a time of fasting for Muslims. It's generally celebrated with meals, get-togethers, etc.)

Agreed. But I got the impression that she means "every weekend"???

aaahh.. yeah, if it's just the one weekend following a short period of fasting, then I say it's NBD. I got the impression there was a long period of fasting and the OP wanted to go nuts every weekend. That is where the thought comes in that it's a bad idea.

I'm thinking that's a typo or side effect of English being a second language, since she says she's in Dubai. I had a roommate in college from South Korea, and she had the same issues with "weekdays" vs "weekend."
  • yeah guys its only for eid lol!
    thanks :)
