How much rest before 2nd round of P90X?

I've looked online and haven't found any advice on this. I would like to hear from really fit people or anyone who's completed multiple rounds of P90X or Insanity.
I have 1 more week to complete my first round and am in the best shape of my life. However, I am quite sluggish and sometime sore. I was wondering about the advantages of starting a P90X/Insanity hybrid vs. resting a week or so to let my body recover.
Also, if I recover/rest for a week. What do you recommend for calories intake? Thanks in advance for your input.

2 weeks is what the book says.
Oh. And I am currently doing an Insanity-based Insanity and P90X hybrid. LOVE IT!!!! The cardio is MUCH better in Insanity and my fitness level has definitely been kicked up a notch!0 -
I have 3 more weeks of Insanity, and plan to go right into my 2nd round of P90X. I find that if I don't workout for a couple of days, it's hard to get started again.0

Well...I haven't completed multiple rounds but I just started my second round of P90x (P90x+) on Monday *and* I finished the first version of P90x on the previous Saturday (so, a 1 day break).
My reasoning for this is that at the end of P90x I was on a *roll.* The workouts felt great, I was burning tons of calories and feeling good without a ton of soreness...so why stop when things are good? I had met some fitness goals in the week before (increased number of pull-ups, push-ups, weights, etc...)
So why stop? Your here to lose weight and get fit right? Its my hope to continue to workout everyday if possible so I want to keep at it! If I just sat around for a week I'd probably lose muscle/gain fat.
So unless you're injured or feeling fatigued...I'd say go for it! If you're going to miss working out make it a good reason (like a week vacation! or something)0 -
Where in the book (and which book) does it say that. I think I might be fatigued.0

At the bottom of p. 25 of the Fitness Guide. And if you are fatigued, it is a good idea to rest. I'm in my first round of P90X, but had to get up to speed for it doing Power 90 and didn't take a break. I actually was getting fatigued around the 4th week of P90X and then subsequently got sick. So it doesn't hurt to listen to your body and take a break between rounds.0 -
Thank you for this. I found it! Does anyone have recommendations on how to eat during those "off" weeks?Where in the book (and which book) does it say that. I think I might be fatigued.
