Virgin Coconut Oil

Does anyone use this? Any thoughts? I know there is a debate because it is a saturated fat, but it is supposed to have many healthful benefits. I'd like to hear other peoples opinions.

I use it a a facial moisturizer before my sunscreen. Sometimes I cook with it too.

I looked it up: http://www.naturalhealthweb.com/articles/vandenbrekel1.html I'm glad I did, as I heard negative things about it and, after reading this, learned that it actually does have some benefits. I myself will still use olive oil for cooking, however.

    It's ok in moderation.
I like using it when cooking fish, because it kinda leaves it with a buttery taste w/o using any butter :)

Anyone using it for popcorn. I usually (just finished making some for DD & her BF) use white kernels, canola and put butter on it. If the coconut oil had a good flavor maybe I'd skip the butter.

    .

I think it has a definite flavor of coconut, kind of sweet. I have been stirring a little into my morning oatmeal because I eat such a low fat diet (mostly fruits, veggies, fish, whole grains, a few nuts) that I think I actually have to add fat to something.
