I lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks on C25k. I finished the program 3 weeks early, which shocked me. Definitely use your rest days, don't try to run back to back. You will get hurt. I did that in week 4 and got shin splints so bad I had to R.I.C.E my leg for a couple of days.

    Advice:

    1. if you haven't already done so, go to a specialty store and get a stride evaluation and proper shoes for your running profile. Especially if you have extra weight to work with in the beginning. I know some of the shoes may be expensive, but find out the type of shoe you need. Nothing says you have to buy from them.

    2. Have fun with it. I have suffered numerous injuries by pushing myself to perform rather than just enjoying where I was at at the time. That doesn't mean don't push yourself at all, just enjoy the process. Take pride in the minor accomplishments, they help you reach the major ones.

    3. Take the rest days.

    4. Don't worry about whether you are losing weight, enjoy making progress toward being fitter and healthier. The weight is a side issue and a bennie!

    Good luck!

How is it going? I started last week as well. Still doing day 1 untill I can get all the running done without stopping or extra walk time in between. Did all the running this am but took an extra 30 secs of walking time between 2 run intervals, but I'm definitely getting better each day.
