Ok ANJU Warriors....I need somebody to do the weekly BushMen challenge with me!!!!
I can go into this battle alone or I can have a warrior (or two) with me:devil:
What do you say guys????
Tina - my left knee has been acting up a bit but I will *try* the bushmen the first few days. If I absolutely can't do it then I'll switch back to pygmy. I want to be able to say I've done it, but I also don't want to injure myself and then not be able to meet my 10K on Thanksgiving goal.0 -
Tina -- I'm gonna *try* to do the bushmen exercises. This is a challenge, after all, right? We'll see how it goes, but I intend to start out with the bushmen series!! Let's do iiiiiiit!0

But start weight = 182.6
Goal weight = 1770 -
Good Morning Tribe
I will take notes on SW and GW. It's fine if you dont want to take measurements. GW arent required for the challenge either, I just thought it would be good to have a goal to work towards. We did receive the spread sheet from Gary and this Bushmen info... I believe what has been added is in (((( )))).

do them all at one time. Please do your best as you are much stronger than you believe.0 -
So everyone understands what they need to do for the daily challenge and weekly challenges?
Would it be easier for me to post them the night before?
I googled the Bushman Mountain climbers, wood chops and globe jumps.... Wow-E!!
I will be doing the Pygmy plus adding, some Bushman.... mostly the crunches and upper exercises to stay away from knee issues.
Tina thank you for the encouragement... I'm going bushbaby!0 -
FYI from another captain....
Here is a question from one of my Anju Warriors....
Does our team get more points if I do the advanced since it's so much harder?
Thanks
Nope, both are the same... you get to choose which one you do on a daily basis. Both get the 1 point for every team member that complete's the daily challenge, and 5 bonus if all team members complete all 6 daily challenges
But encourage your team to do the hard work outs because they will have a greater weight loss.0 -

Good morning ladies! Let's do this!0 -
So everyone understands what they need to do for the daily challenge and weekly challenges?
So daily we do the list of either regular or advanced? And this week is target calories and water? I think I've got it! I should probably not reviewing this when my head is spinning from work. LoL. But it's the best way to check in as often as possible!!
My ultimate goal weight is 145.
I will be sticking with the regular series for now. Just started on my Jamie Eason's Fit Live series and she kicks it up a notch in a week or so and I want to make sure I can still dedicate my body to that program fully before I assess whether I have it in me to go advanced!! Good luck to all and way to push to those going advanced- I bow to you!0 -
R we posting our weight this sunday since its a short wk?0
-
Reese sounds like you have it!!
Jennifer Yes and every Sunday!!0 -
From Gary.... MINI Challenge for extra points! Do ya know what a bear walk is ladies...... not me. Google time.
O.K. Let's start this week off right! Since we are short this week I'm offering a mini-challenge. Remember Gym Class? Do you remember doing the bear walk? As a side mini-challenge you don't have to ever do the mini-challenges. But if you'd like to earn your team an extra point bearwalk for 3 minutes. Seems easy but it has to be a constant bear walk constantly moving for 3 minutes. You might be surprised! If you do the bear walk at the end of the week ask them to add one point to your team score! if you choose not too or cannot perform the mini-challenge its all good! This is just something to get our challenge up and running! So there it is FIRST MINI-CHALLENGE a Constant 3 minute Bearwalk.0 -

Glad I could help!I think I can what the bushmen challenge calls for. I do ALOT of Cathe Friedrich workouts and does most all of these moves....but we will see. Have Fun!

I understand how you feel about your program now. I take classes at the gym and they are tough!!!! I'm having trouble getting rid of these last few pounds so I thought I better kick it up another notch...if that can even be done at this point. he/he You're awesome no matter what you do.0 -

Good morning ladies! Let's do this!
I'm right here with you on losing 5 pounds...we CAN do it!!!!0 -
I'm hoping to lose 5 pounds this month, as well! I'm semi-nervous about next week, because I'm spending the week at my parents' house. They aren't super healthy eaters... on the plus side, I'll have total control over breakfast and lunch and I'll be at home by myself all day, leaving plenty of time for exercise. I live in Memphis, where the current temp is approximately 100 degrees. My parents live in Northern Virginia, where the temp is forecasted to be in the upper 70s!!!! Which means plenty of outside exercise -- running, walking, and I might even do our daily strength challenges outside just because I can!
How are y'all planning to succeed in this challenge? Are you scheduling the exercises into your day? Planning or making meals ahead of time? Have you found an accountability partner? I love hearing how other people plan to succeed -- because it's so important to me to plan!0 -
I did the pygmy challenge for today! Whoo, It had me sweating (maybe because I did it right after my morning walk) and it had my daughter laughing! Win-win  I decided to add "Pygmy Daily Challenge" into my exercises to remind me to do them everyday, and just show myself that I've done them. Hoping that will help me succeed! I've already passed the 64 oz of H20 for the day (I'm a water freak) and I have the rest of my meals and snacks planned so I should be within my target calories for today. How are the rest of you doing?0
-
I did better than I thought today.. I started by doing 1 mile warm up on my Treadmill. 1st time in our new place... it was wonderful...cant remember when I was on last, its been in storage.
I started with the pgmies.. then went onto the bushman's.
Didnt realize there was a increase in the squat kicks between the two 30-50 ... then I forgot weather 2 squats both legs counted as one or 1 squat 1 leg? So I ended up doing a 100 of those....puppies.
On the crunches.. it says 50 I did 25 bicycles and 25 regs.
Did all bushman but the globe jumps.
I feel like I had more energy all day long and almost at 100 ozs.
oops...100 oz of water.0 -
I need Meredith's and Sarah's Sept 1st starting weight (SW) and goal weight (GW).0
-
Hi Warriors!!!! I just finished the Day 1 of the Bushmen Challenge...WOW! I was not expecting to sweat like that!!!!!! (and today is actually my rest day)
I'm like Jorden on the not knowing if 1 leg meant one or two legs meant one on the mountain climbers...I counted two reps (legs) as one. I love mountain climbers and could have kept going on those. Those globe jump thingies really got me sweating and breathing so I did 25 and moved on to 25 wood chops then went back and did 25 of each again.
Are you sitting for this one? I did the 50 crunches the challenge called for - and forgot I had another challenge of 200 crunches for today too!!!!! SO - I did 25 crunches, 25 bicycles, 25 toe taps, 25 side bends for obliques, you get the picture.
OH MY GOSH!!!! I did complete the 3 minute bearwalk and was wishing I had done it first!!!!! I think I may add that in every day....I felt it in the ole butt and that's wear I'd REALLY like to tone!!! I can't wait to hear what you all say about these!!!! BTW, my dog thought I was playing with him during these and I had sweat dripping off my chin!!
Now that I've rattled on - just sayin' WOW.....this is definitely a challenge!
I also completed the water challenge - 64 oz.0 -
CW: 200.9
I would like to weigh 190 by September 30th!
I completed Day 1!0 -
CW: 221.2 lbs.
I would like to lose 12 pounds by Sept. 30th. (I will be 209.2)
I completed Day 10 -
Great job all! Awesome start to the challenge!
I guess I shoulld write down the challenge before I go the gym at 5am. I def. swear I read 50 squat kicks...so that's what I did along with the 50 jumping jacks. Don't think I've EVER liked those things, but did them in sets of 25 in between my strength training. Plan on doing the same thing with the swimmer's press (I've heard this move called alot of things but NEVER swimmer's press!) and then taking the dogs on the extra mile. After all, they need exercise too. I'll give the bear walk a go tomorrow if I can remember to take my timer with me. I'm interested to see how that feels after working shoulders and abs for strength training. LoL.
Stayed under my calories and got my water in. It wasn't a good dinner choice but it had been a lonnngg day @ work and I just couldn't manage to get myself in the kitchen to make yet another chix breast. Tomorrow I'll stay under AND make healthy choices!0
