Last night was day 11 of 30DS and I am still on Level 1. its still a little hard for me. Last night was the first time I got through the first level without any breaks. I am doing C25K in the morning and 30DS in the afternoons but this is the first time I have worked out(I mean really worked out) in years. I've been doing great the first 11 days!!! So I have decided that instead of switching levels every 10 days I will do 30DS as follows...
Level 1-15 Days
Level 2-15 Days
Level 3-30 Days
Has anyone else modified it this way or modified it anyway?

I haven't modified the length of it, but I have modified some of the exercises to be easier on my knees.

I didn't do it 30 consecutive days....I started out that way, but I kept my other activities going too. I use Jillian DVD's when I'm short on time and to keep variety, both for my body and my mind. I get bored!

I just got her Yoga Meltdown (has 2 workouts) and Ripped in 30 (has 4 workouts) that will give me the variety I need in short workouts.

I say do what works for you. It works if you DO it.

I figured out that it was mainly the push ups letting me down, even the modifed ones, as I find them really hard and would just end up collapsing on the floor...and staying there. So I did push ups against a shelf instead of on the floor, and didn't use hand weights. Okay it's modified but at least I actually made it through the routine! And I deffo felt the burn!

Good to know it did some good even with my little tweaks (: I'll try adding weights in on Monday, and then push ups and maybe the harder versions of work out one for another week. And then see how I get on! Not sure I'll be ready to move onto level two in ten days, we'll see. Just proud I lasted through the whole of level one even if I did cheat a bit :P

I'm still in the trying to talk myself into it phase and I was thinking of doing 15 or 20 days of each level instead of 10. And like Brittany, I'll be modifying some of the exercises until I can do them "right".
  • The pushups are the hardest part for me too. That is where I always break. I only break for a couple seconds then I go back into them but I also do them girly style...on my knees!

I can't even do the girly ones, I find it so much easier leaning against a wall and doing it if you know what i mean, so I'm still working the muscles but not completely fighting gravity!

could you also let me know what is C25K
  • I find that I get bored before the 10 days are up. I get all excited in the beginning for the first few days because its new and then I just start putting off doing it during the day. Kudos to you if you can keep doing it for 60 days in a row. I know some people have created a hybrid with the 30DS and ripped in 30 to keep it interesting.
  • Yes! I am doing the 30 Day Shred and Ripped In 30 Hybrid!! I must say that I am loving my results so far. It's been maybe a week and I've lost about half an inch off my waist and also can see some definition in my arms and legs!! I am loving this. It's never the same workout. I rotate between the two and their different levels. Doing it this way, I get a different workout everyday and it doesn't get boring. I have actually decided that I won't really count my days. I'll just keep doing it until I get the results I'm wanting or until my body finally begs for something different. For right now it's been great for me!!
  • Then C25K(couch to 5K) program is a beginers running program that is 9 weeks long and it takes you literally from sitting on your couch to running a 5K.
