Is it just me or is the censorship on this site a little ridiculous? They are removing threads right and left. Has this always been the case? It makes me wonder if they read our private messages. Mom and dad, get off my back!

I don't think it would be so bad, if everyone wasn't so quick to start ridiculously bashing each other. They just want to put a stop to potential b!tch-fests lol

Seems about average. Since it is a private site, they can pull or leave up whatever they choose. I'm okay with it, but if I find myself no longer okay with it, I know where the door is.

It just makes me feel like so much of the message boards here is a big ol' waste of time. It either turns into a "bich" fest that gets deleted or it turns into a big cliquey circle jerk.

I have noticed that and I have only been here for a couple of days. I thought we all here have the same goal weither you have Weightloss surgery, use Atkins, slimfast or what ever....Our goal is to get healthy and fit. Also live longer.

I'm convinced they only police the public boards. The private messages and profile posts aren't monitored (at least not blocked). Otherwise I would be kicked off the site already.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the website has such a range of young and older people, as well as liberal and conservatives. There are a lot of tattle tales here. I just discovered I've had some of my own posts reported. Lame.

It is definitely a HEAVILY CENSORED SITE! But look at the alternatives>>>I have been to sites where there is NO censorship and the experience is TOTALLY BAD! The "People" have "Cyber Cliques" and tend to BULLY others who do not agree with them; eventually people STOP coming or participating because of FEAR or negative feedback.

This is a GREAT SITE...it is basically Positive and Pleasant. The experience is Positive and that is basically what one needs to lose weight and get their health together. If you need to "BYTTCH" about something, you can always do it in your Blog! I USED to feel the same way, until I finally "GOT IT," I didn't need the BULLSHYT...and My weight loss experience moved in a Positive Direction. You can always go to a Site where it is more appropriate for you to B & M.

I like the idea of being positive and encouraging and I don't need to b*tch & moan regularly, but the fact that people can't without getting censored is a little ridiculous. Especially, when it's just in the chit-chat section. If people don't are easily offended and want nothing but rainbows and sunshine all day long they should just stay in the other parts of the message boards where people can tell them they are beautiful and doing a great job. I agree though, I've been on boards with no monitoring whatsoever and there was a lot of bad *kitten* going down. I also don't like that I can't use my colorful language. I'm not 12 years old. I should be able to say b*tch if I want to.

I guess it's just me. I prefer my online experience to be more like real life. I don't want to be sheltered and coddled. I'm an adult. I'm cynical and real and blunt when bluntness is called for.

Maybe we live in a different world, but there are NOT many places IN PUBLIC that one can go and say ANYTHING they want to, and NOT be Censored>>>If You go to a Restaurant, Public Transportation, Library, Store, Movie, Hotel Lobby, Place of Worship, WORK PLACE, even Certain People's private homes and cars... (if you use profanity out loud or disturb others you will be asked to stop or leave.) No different Online.

Honestly, there are a lot of childish people on the forums regularly who purposely go out of their way to push the envelope, and they mess it up for everyone. The mods don't get paid to sit here and read through all these posts. And they don't get paid to determine when they should or shouldn't close a thread down. I would never want to be a mod for this site, and if I were I'd just shut people down left and right too. Figure out how to behave in a public forum without losing it every time someone says something stupid. It's really not a difficult concept.

I just find it SO annoying when people post rants they know are going to get people upset, then defend their post by saying they just wanted to 'get it out there' not actually hear what people had to say...If you don't want to hear people's differing opinions, put it in your blog! No, not everyone would see it so readily, but you said you didn't care about that, right? And it makes MUCH more sense to defend a blog post by saying 'I just wanted to get it out.' Just stop being a whiner.

Also, the censoring of the language doesn't bother me very much because it's small and easily worked around, but taking down the things people do want opinions on is just as annoying as people whining about the opinions they get. I know there's rules, but that doesn't make it less annoying when people get all offended over nothing. I am sarcastic and pretty smart-assy in real life, tho. And I would probably participate more in the forums if I didn't think I'd piss some crybaby off or get reported, just for trying to make a joke.

I tell my friends in real life this, and it applies to my amazing MFP's, too: If I'm nice to you, it either means I don't know you very well, yet OR I don't really like you (which doesn't apply to any of my MFP's at the moment). The more I tease you, the more I like you. Either that or I think you're a moron. It's a fine line.
