Well I have been doing amazingly well here. Sunday night my husband and I went to see his brother and sister in law's new house. It had snowed all day. To make a long story short as I walked through their front door onto their marble floor my feet flew out from under me. I stated crying I thought we were going to have to call 911. They got me out of the floor and into a chair. I kept telling my husband that I needed to go to the emergency room. He said I would be ok. Well Monday morning no better so I took off work and went to an Urgent Care. I found out I broke my coccyx into 5 pieces and fracture two of the lower vertebre in my back. I can't do anything walking hurt sitting hurt. I have to see an orthopedic suregeon on Tuesday and I don't have enough sick time to even cover the two weeks I am suppose to be off now. Not to mention my family Dr thinks they will have to do something surgical. I told my husband he need to tell his brother to file a claim with his homeowners insurance is this ridiculous? Am I being mean I can't do anything and the main reason I have been losing weight is from exercise, plus I am in a lot of pain. Sorry I just need to vent

I'm so sorry that you're injured.
You're absolutely right that a claim should be filed with the insurance company. This is exactly the kind of thing that we have insurance for; to avoid financial hardship due to accidents.
By the way, using a kind gentle voice, tell your husband that the next time you say you need to go to the ER you expect him to immediately pick up his keys and help you to the car.0 -
Being in insurance, I most definately agree. They need to file a claim. Then hopefully you have insurance as well. Hopefully your employer can understand that it is not something that happened intentually and give you the time off. Sorry friend. Nothing worse than not being able to sit or move.....been there, did that. I feel for ya. Chin up!!0

Your employeer has to give you time off. I think that comes under the family leave act..0

I am so sorry you are hurt! Hurt doesnt even touch it really....you are very injured.
I hope the bones will knit on there own and you will not need surgical intervention.
