I think that the appropriate gender is going to respond anyway.
I've filed this issue under "Things I Can't Even Force Myself to Care About."

How cool...I have the same file! Oddly enough...let me check...

    Yep...there's this issue lol.

More seriously...it doesn't bother me at all. Mostly because as you said, the appropriate gender will inevetably reply, and sometimes hearing the opposite gender's opinion makes the discussion much, MUCH more entertaining lol.

    At minimum, more interesting.

Besides, as one young lady mentioned...if it REALLY is a men/women only thread...they'll figure it out quickly enough. I don't get offended reading about Mr. Tom...because most of the women here are considerate enough to let us know right in the title not to read it. If I opened it, well...my bad lol. Same goes if I post a topic about jock itch. I'd be sure to let the women know to open at their own discretion.

Ahh well...this one was a fun read too...so thanks to the OP =D.

People don't read posts here alot. They skim. This post is about puppies right?

Puppies on HCG....doing 30 Day Shred...and wondering if they should log digging up the flower bed as exercise...

Kind of like the guy who posted a topic earlier this morning about strength training and got 3 comments recommending "New Rules of Lifting for Women".

If someone in real life started a conversation that I found interesting, the fact that he was rude enough to say "By the way I'm excluding women from this discussion" wouldn't stop me from listening, or from contributing to the discussion if I felt I had something of value to say.

This is a public forum, I don't give any credence to "rules" which exclude part of the membership from discussions.

In any case, this is the internet, how do you know that I'm not a 6' 4" Lumberjack called Colin?

Wow. I never realized I stated that I was offended by anything. Last I checked, my original post was merely a question. Inevitable though, people twist things out of proportion despite the fact that the original post is available to be re-read. I love message boards. Endless sources of entertainment.

Once again at the risk of being flamed I would also suggest that many ladies don`t give a rats behind what guys in general think but are looking for info regarding how they compete or compare with other ladies.

In fairness as well ladies as a percentage far outnumber guys here so that alone will skew any thread.
Given that I also think a lot of guys are not sure what is the "right" answer to a question and will admit to being guilty of that too.

I am too dumb to not do that sometimes though.

Sadly you're probably right about there being "ladies" like that, but there are also rational human beings who don't consider their personal brand of wedding tackle to be the most interesting or important thing about them.

I *totally* care more about what women think than men ... but for the most part, I couldn't care less either way. Basically, if there is anyone's opinion other than my own I'd ever give a *kitten* about, it would be a woman's. Fashion magazines, the 'diet' industry, and clothing manufacturers rely on the fact that women influence other women.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'm reporting this thread for being sexist about sexism. Or something.

I wish more people would realize there's really not THAT much difference between men and women. We're not difference species. We have very similar wants and needs and insecurities.

There is no "understanding men" or "understanding women," because we're ALL individuals (waiting for the Life of Brian fan to say, "I'm not."). There's no need, no point, to trying to "figure out the opposite sex." It's only (ha!) a matter of finding the one (or ones) you do understand... with whom you share common values and goals.

It doesn't matter if most men prefer blondes, brunettes or redheads, or if they love or hate makeup, or if they like big butts and they cannot lie. The only man whose opinion matters to me is the one I'm sharing my life with. Likewise for women. What the majority wants doesn't matter. Finding someone who appreciates the real, genuine YOU is all that matters.

No one should change who they really, genuinely are to try to appeal to the masses.

Well said. I love it when I enter a "Ladies Only" discussion and find that it's about TOM. I take my BC pills in such a way that I rarely have a TOM, so I can't participate anyway. :(

I hate being excluded though. If a post asks for men's opinions, I'll throw in a response of what my husband might say. Just because I'm not a man doesn't mean that I don't interact with them all day. Although, to be fair, they might be softsoaping their opinions around me. Who knows, but I just hate being excluded from anything.
