Updating weight?

I'm fairly new to mfp and I was wondering if I should change my recorded weight on mfp everytime it goes up and down? I weigh myself everyday just so that I can notice if i've had a few days of really bad eating.

HI Josette... that's up to you, however I've been doing this for a little over 3 months now and I like to enter it once a week, so when you look at your progress you'll see a nice steady, downward sloped line towards your goal. Not to mention, women especially will fluctuate during the week and it'll look like a heartbeat line on your progress when at the end of the week you could be down by 2 lbs... it is a preference and it's hard not to weigh yourself every day, but our bodies definitely tell us what's going on whether it be too much sodium, etc.. but that would be my suggestion. Good luck to you! I absolutely love mfp!!0

I noticed some people update more often than just once a week,. I just update once a week. though I do weigh myself almost every day.0

Typically, it is recommended that you weigh once a week, but I like to step on every day too. I only record once a week though. Your weight can fluctuate throughout the week, but at the end of that week, whatever you weigh is a good representation of how you are doing.0

I record mine and my wifes weight everyday. We also understand that our weight may fluctuate from time to time due to water retention. But I believe that since we have been drinking at least 8-12C water everyday and watching out sodium intake that should keet the water retention somewhat in check.
And make sure you weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you eat or drink.

For the firs couple of weeks, I would pop on the scales about midway but not record the weight......I weigh each Monday and this is the weight I record........I've been good the last week as I haven't weighed myself since last Monday.......0

I go to the scale every morning, but only record my weight on Mondays. My weight changes day to day. I just get excited everyday to see if I lost some pounds. Don't be sad if you don't lose weight either, it will just help motivate the next week. At least that's what I tell myself and it helps me to push harder.0
