New to shed/weight lose/challenge groups

I have never joined a shed or weight lose group but I am really interested. I've been looking at them and it seems you just post your weight every day or every couple days.

Are there actual challenges for each day, like today do 200 sit ups or walk 1 mile?? That is the kind of group I am looking for. I am also trying to get my wife on board.

    me either but i would like to just not sure how u join or what u have to do ,i was looking for a pedometer group that u post ur steps on every day but i cant find one i think i saw a jumping jack one maybe u would be intrested in that
