Which is The Better Choice?

Trying to decide on what to have for my after dinner treat tonight. Cant decide which would be the better choice...

1) Eddy's Fruit Bar - Strawberry - 80 Calories, 0 Fat, & 21 Carbs

or

2) 1/2 Hershey's Heath Bar - 105 Calories, 7 Fat, & 12 Carbs

Neither will put me over my calorie goal but the fruit bar will put me right at my carb limit for the day. So is it better to have more calories and more fat or just go for the extra carbs???

Before MFP I would have just had both and probably more...glad those days are over, but I still need my treat for the night :)

  • I would go with the one that sounds good. Neither takes you over your calories, so which one makes you happy? Well done on only eating one.

    Eat the one your taste buds are asking for, it will be the most satisfying and you will be less likely to crave more.
  • good for you with the new found control. I know personally I could not do half of a candy bar. too easy to eat the whole thing. I would go for the fruit bar. You may want to try to make your own in the future to control the sugar, and therefore the carbs. :) Fruit is at least a more nutritious snack, even with the extra carbs.

    Just my thoughts.

    I think it depends on what you are in the mood for, once you are ready for your after dinner treat. chocolate is always yummy. frozen treats are also yummy! Great decision just to have one. That shows willpower!!

    So agree with everyone. Go for what your taste buds really want. Good for you on not going for both!

    Eat the one that will make you happiest - then you'll be happy and content. If you want the chocolate - eat the chocolate (otherwise you'll be craving it afterward and will continue eating to try and calm the craving). If you don't really care about the chocolate, have the fruit bar.

    Either way - choose the one that makes YOU happiest! :)

    Number 2 is better for you. It has less carbs and more fat. I'd pick fat over carbs anyday.

    Thanks Everybody! Going for the 1/2 heath bar because chocolate is what I'm craving. Very proud of my new found will power...before starting this journey there is no way I could have had just 1/2 a candy bar. Now I am finally seeing that half satisfies my craving as well as the whole thing but it doesn't destroy my diet. MFP is doing wonders for me!!!!! I really appreciate the support!
