So I struggle with eating (a lot). I am very used to my own routine and I hate going out of it. Today was a holiday for me, Christmas, so that meant that I was surrounded by lots of great food! It was hard for me to go out of my routine but I did a little bit. I am going to come clean about roughly what I ate and I am curious to see if you all would consider what I ate good or bad.
Here's a little info: I am at my ultimate low weight right now (115) and I am okay with gaining a few pounds. Ever since I was 125, I didn't mean to lose more weight, it just kind of happened because of my habits. I tried today to be better about my eating but here goes:
Breakfast:
light and fit yogurt
30g of puffins cinamon cereal
snack:
vitatop
lunch:
turkey sandwich on arnold select roll
quite a few fat free pringles
snack:
hostess mini cakes (100 calorie)...I know...who eats that on christmas??
exercise:
3 mile run (unintended but my family went for a run so I had to join)
after run:
about 5 crackers with cheese
dinner:
a little bit of beef tenderloin
lots of baked ham (not too much though)
sweet potato
broccoli (steamed)
desert: eek
lots of chocolate peppermint bark (roughly 1/4 of a sheet)
2 gingerbread cookies
1/2 a sugar cookie
1 russian tea cake
PLEASE tell me what you think. I know I ate a lot more at dinner time but this was intended. I have no idea how many calories that all is because I didn't take measurements. Would you consider this a bad day or good day?

With that being said... I think what you've shared sounds like a super day for a Holiday... many folks might down platefuls of cookies...you ate several...and the bark.... toss in the excercise and wow....I personally think you kept to things pretty well considering it's a Holiday meal.
I think if there's anyway you can even do guess work on your meals ...how about if you log it..simply to show yourself excactly (rough guess) how you did today...I think you might be helped by seeing written down so you know you ate enough but didn't over indulge to much .. I know sometimes we can get pretty hard on ourselves and it can be confusing what sort of day we actually had.....
...you might have to Google a bit for some of the treats unless they already have them in MFP but with the excercise and the typical breakfast...I think it just might surprise you how well you did.....
I know you:flowerforyou: deal with an ED as you've shared as well so hopefully you were going for a response of you not overeating instead of asking if it's enough.... I think I correctly understood your post. I understand it being tough to figure out if it's a good food day or a bad food day...though I'm currently on the oppisite end now of the spectrum of an ED...I once was also finding myself deciding if it was a good day or a bad day...
ok, so let me add one thing..... since you did an unplanned run... I think you could easily consider you ate back some of your excercise cals with the treats...
My personal opionion for what it's worth:flowerforyou: I think you should be proud...you ate enough to cover the cals you ran off...kept the meals balanced (carb, protein etc) and snacks in between....and didn't really go overboard to much considering it's one meal a year in regards to treats.
Just my thoughts...
Get some good sleep tonight. .. you had a good day:flowerforyou: and tomorrow is a brand new one....:drinker:

Thank you! You gave me the perfect response. Maybe I will log it and realize I am too hard on myself? In order to maintain my weight I can eat roughly 1600 caloires a day! I'll let you know after I log!0

I did edit my post a bit perhaps after you already had read it....so added a few things...

You are right. I AM surprised. I was actually under my calories by 6 (with the exercise included). I am surprised by this....but this is also a very rough estimate. Tomorrow I now have an excuse to splurge some more. MAN. I know all of you are trying to lose weight but let me tell you maintanence is just as hard. It is difficult to adjust to going back to "more normal eating habits" as oppose to "the diet mentality." I have been at this for MONTHS. Thank you fitnesschick! I hear you are amazing0

I think we are all in different boats....doesnt mean your boat is any easier to row than mine!!
I have read several of your threads and I commend you on working towards a healthier you, both physical and mental.
I do not have anything to add to FC response, other than she said it VERY well.
Keep up the good work!:flowerforyou:0 -
Thank you so much. I know I write posts about weight maintanence a lot but it really is a constant struggle that many of you will eventually if you aren't already experiencing. Maybe I am having a harder time with it than most because I changed my eating habits almost entirely but I will eventually have to develop a new mentality in order to live an ordinary life!!! I just haven't hit that point yet because I am still a student and very independent. Hard to explain...but hopefully you can kind of see where i'm coming from. Happy Holidays to everyone0

I know, you are just like my oldest son. You will find your own way, I promise.
I am proud of you for taking control of your health now! The fact that you are still in school and are working towards a better life is fantastic!
keep up the good work. day by day you will learn something new to add to the bood of knowledge!

It's Christmas....only comes once a year! Don't be so hard on yourself!!! I completely bent all the rules on the 25th. I figure I deserve a splurge after working so hard and, like you, I surpassed my goal and am going for 5 additional pounds.
