Hello all.

I am looking for advice on what exercise I should be doing as I have a bad back. I suffer with it every now and then but this last week I have been laid up and barely able to walk. I am getting back on my feet and am determined to do a little bit of exercise. I am doing short walks but was wondering if there were other exercises people recommend.

  • swimming is great, no pressure on the joints and works all your muscles. :)

Lots of stretching. When I went to a therapist for my back, I used to strengthen my back by doing a series of stretching exercises focused on limbering it up.

It's horrible isn't it. I had just got into the exercise malarky and now I can't do it!!! Not what I was doing anyway!
  • I thought the same about me in a bathing suit and then I joined a aqua-fit program. Everyone there was over weight (or was) and I felt much better being there.

I am going to look into the swimming classes at the local pool. I am inspired!
