Can't go to the gym today... what should I do instead?

Ok, so last night I treated myself to fish and chips, thinking "I'll do an extra half hour at the gym tomorrow to work it off".

Except... it's a UK bank holiday and the gym is closed!! My boyfriend dropped me off and I don't take my phone or money to the gym with me, so I was stranded and had to walk home (about half an hour), but I don't think this is enough as I was gonna do an hour and a half at the gym today.

What should I do instead... suggestions? I have Zumba for Wii but am getting kinda bored with it now... Would like to do something at home as it's raining out.

  • I'd put on my headphones and dance around the house like a fool for an hour. It's exercise and it's fun!!!

Well, can you jump rope, push ups, use a chair and do tricep extensions, burpees, running in place, sit ups, crunches, if in an apartment building, run the stairs, jumping jacks.

Do you have cable? On demand fitness is always a bonus and that's how I lost my first 20lbs of my weight loss program. No gym, no trainer...just cable...LOL!

Google Deck of Cards workout. You pick an exercsie (sit-ups, jumping jacks, pushups, etc) for each suite and then do however many correspond to the number on the card. I did this with situps, pushups, tricep dips, and minutes on my indoor bike this weekend for 45 minute and it was TOUGH. A great workout. I entered calisthenics on the cardio selection to get my calorie count.
