So it hit me today the food that I eat during the day and do not log because I don't even realize it. :explode:

I do not like to see when I make the kids breakfast, lunch etc and they eat a little and then it's "I'm done" and 1/2 their plate is there. I try making less but then end up having to make more so it's a vicious cycle. Today while cleaning up from us sitting and having breakfast, I started to clear the table and started picking at their leftovers. Oh My God it was the proverbial light bulb over my head!

So, now... smaller portions, will take the time to make more (or let them have a yogurt, fruit, etc). IF there are leftovers they will either go into a container for later or... sorry to say... thrown away.

So that said.... this family's garbage disposal is now out of order....
:drinker:

That's awesome! I used to do that, too. I'm pretty sure that's how I gained a good chunk of my weight when my daughter was really little. Yay for not being a disposal anymore!

When I said bigger portions I'm talking normal portions for their age ... not BIGGER portions. Right now usually I try to remember to make 1/2 portions because even at 8 and 5 they are not always big eaters.
  • That is SO my reality!!!! Amazing how much more they'll eat if they think I'm about to throw away the television to make room for a trainer.

I used to do that too! A throw back from childhood when we had to eat everything and "think of the kids starving". I too finally realized that there was no way to get that 1/2 cup of leftovers from my table to that kid's stomach - so I throw it!
