Im trying to do a day with 250sodium (or preferrably under--just for 1day), so Im looking for no sodium foods.
I have the day covered, but dinner seems scarce. Ive thought of rice, but dont know what to add to it that doesnt have any sodium. Any ideas? I already planned this and my boyfriend has a hurt knee and wants me to make dinner for him now, so I have to come up with something he will like too, ugh and cant just make rice and call it good. Any ideas?

I dont have to make rice either, it just just a dinner staple that i thought of with no sodium. Veggies have sodium to them, so veggies are kinda out.

Almost everything except pure water has some sodium in it.

Why are you trying to go so low with sodium? I understand it's only for one day, but why are you trying it? Sodium isn't bad for you unless you're consuming it in huge quantities -- it's actually an essential nutrient.

lilybug13--chicken, and most meat, has sodium, so no go on the chicken.

AjBeans---plenty of thigns dont have sodium... Fruit, Nuts, potatoe, rice, unsalted peanut butter, natural fruit/granola type bars (larabars) all have no sodium... Juice, beans, tons of natural things dont have sodium... I had a potatoe with lunch, peanut butter/apple for breakfast, nuts and fruit for afternoon snack... just trying to think of other items for dinner... plain popcorn is another snack i might have later...

Im having a low sodium day because I have a biggest loser final weigh in tomorrow and trying to drop weight quickly and have been struggling with salt intake making me go up several pounds overnight.. my last two weigh ins i unexpectedly went up several pounds after busting my *kitten* all week, so just one day of this to guarentee a normal/low weigh in. I understand salt is needed in your system as a nutrient, but without a way to flush it out today, im not eating anything with salt in it--or a couple things with very low salt to i dont have too much. i had milk with my coffee this morning, which has sodium, but that is it for sodium cuz i decided this after my coffee.

Just to share the final outcome. I had black beans (dried, not canned) over rice. I pressure cooked the beans then added to a pan that had onion, garlic, thyme, cumin, pepper and nu-salt which is a natural salt substitute. And cooked down until the excess water from the beans was near gone. I used the bean water instead of draining so that I wouldn't pour nutrients down drain.

My total salt for day was 200, and like I said, I decided on no salt after my 190mg sodium coffee, so I did pretty damn good.
