Another post about eating calories....

I have my daily goal set at 1,310 calories. I'm netting less than that, sometimes 500 or less. Today was my 2nd week of weighing in the exact same. I've only lost 13lbs in 35 days+. At first I heard that I should eat them back, then I was told that since I had "so much stored fat, it would take a lot longer for my body to go into starvation mode" Am I in starvation mode? Am I just being impatient? I am feeling so frustrated, discouraged, upset. I'm burning around 800 cals/day at the gym. How am I supposed to eat 2,100 cals/day, when sometimes I can't get to 1,300?! My diary is public, any advice would be much appreciated.

The discussion of whether to eat back exercise calories is a constant one...personally I never do as if I do I will not loose weight but I know others here that have to eat back at least 75% or (similar) they will never shift a lb..... I have found that you just need to figure out what works for you as each of us is different and therefore react differently.
Sorry as I know that this is no easy answer (nor quick!) but good luck and keep going!!! xx0 -
Hello love - can't really help with the calorie numbers thing, and there are lots of people on here that know a lot more about how that side of things works than I do.
But I did just want to say to you that I think having lost 13lbs in 35days is really incredible, so please don't feel discouraged or frustrated because you are doing FANTASTICALLY WELL.
Have you also been taking your measurements? Sometimes they are a pleasant surprise, and it's important to check those out as well, and not get your head too caught up in the scales. Keep going, your diary looks fantastic, your burns are incredible, and you will see results.0 -
Personally I think 13 lbs in a month is amazing!!! But I realized I hit a plateau and stalled for a while when i was eating too little. If you are working out that hard you should be eating most back. When I did my weight loss started again. It works...you just have to plan, plan plan......eat a little more each meal, have some higher cal healthy snacks.0

13 lbs in 35 days is an average of a pound every 3 days - a little over 2 a week, which is nothing to be upset about. Some people might think it's too fast to lose, I'm pretty new at this so I can't advise you there. Are you upset that it isn't faster?0

Have you taken any measurements? You usually lose inches before you see weight loss. Also I looked at your food log and you should incorporate more "Clean food", like fresh fruit, veggies. Also cooking with fresh ingredients. You have to also watch out for the salt and sugar that is in the processed foods. I would eat more calories depending on how your body feels. So if you had a high impact workout and you are hungry make sure to fill those calories up with clean foods. Also changing up the types of workouts you do. Incorporating weight training will definitely help burn fat because muscle burns more fat. I always did cardio, but once I started weight training I lost more inches but my weight stayed the same. I hope this helps.0

I took a look at your diary, and there is a lot of processed food in there. If you cut that, I'm sure you'd see a bigger drop in the scale.
Also if your not doing strength training, I highly suggest it.. it will help aid the weight loss.0
