some of these low cal recipes look amazing but I was wondering is it ok to add a scoop of whey protein to it (like banana bread or pumpkin muffins etc)? Or would the recipe need to be altered somehow?

I just dont want to go to the effort to make it and it turn out badly but would like to get some protein in there if possible.

Thanks :-)

I'd like to know more about Whey Protein powder too...I keep seeing more and more great recipes with it being used that sound great. Where do you get it and what brand is best?

Yes, always use vanilla whey as the base.

Jamie Eason has a few good recipes for baking.

going to break down & make my daughter some protein cookies tonight using vanilla whey & peanut butter (she refuses to eat before school & it worries me)

I have read that heat denaturizes the bioavailablity of the protein, so be careful (cook low and slow)

I use whey vanilla proteing in my bran muffins! I use Trader joes Desinger whey protein brand. Only 100 per scoop and no atrificial sweeteners. 18g of protein :)

I use EAS whey protein powder. Right now I make shakes but would like to bake some high protein snacks to take with me sometimes.

So if I add 2 scoops then I dont need to alter anything....flour, egg whites etc? I guess trial and error might work :-)

    bump

Does it replace any of the flour? Add moisture "wet" ingredients per scoop? I've been wondering about this too.....

I made an awesome waffle this morning.
4 eggs, 2 scoops isopure zero carb vanilla, a dash of baking powder, liquid vanilla stevia to taste. Mix super well (it turned into cake batter, i was happy), pour into waffle iron. Makes 2 big belgian waffles!
