To Eat or Not to Eat- That is the question...

I started 30 Day Shred today. Because I was running late from work I have not eaten dinner yet. I want to make sure I get the most out of these workouts. I don't want to eat and add the calories back that I just killed myself to burn...
My question: Should I eat dinner before I work out or can I eat after my workout?

You can do either. I highly suggest not working out immediately after eating. I like to wait at least 30 minutes to let the food settle. I get some viscous stomach cramps if I workout after eating.0

Don't starve yourself before, but your metabolism will be burning higher after.0

Many will tell you then answer is both. Eat 5 small snack meals a day and I'd eat like an apple or something before your workout then eat afterwards if you still find yourself hungry. Fruit/veggies is what I'm all about.0

I'd say try it both ways a few times and see what works for you. Personally, I get a blood sugar thing if I eat or drink any calories too soon after exercising, so I try to eat about an hour before and then only have water during/after. But, everyone's different.0

I would say to eat a snack like a banana before the workout to give you some energy to push through the workout. Then have ur meal after a shower. However if you decide to eat first, just wait a little bit then work out0

i actually do a little of both... about 45 min before i have something small but with a little of everything i need like a 1/2 a pb sandwhich or a fiber one bar of some wheat thins and hummus... then i workout... then i usually have an orange or apple immediately after to kinda put some good sugars in my body (sometimes when i workout really hard i feel a little light headed once i slow down) and then about an hour and a half later i eat a meal ... but truthfully i firmly believe that as long as i am eating the correct calories and i spread it out into as many meals and snacks as i can get so that i'm not hungry EVER (lol i dont like to be hungry) then it doesn't matter when i eat
i feel like i eat all day long and i eat back my exercise calories (except maybe like 100 here and there) ... its working for me

I always eat back my calories and after my 30 day shred I usually do a protein shake after I've cooled down to help the muscles I've just beaten to hell and back build back up
And so far it seems to be working

It is preferable to eat ur dinner before working out but wait for like an hour before exercising ! but if u feel hungry after ur workout then have a snack but not immediately, like after at least 1 hour and it is better to have a low carb snack, go for a vegetable instead since u'll be mostly inactive afterwards ! but again this is just an opinion (MINE lol) just do whatever u're comfortable with
Best of luck !0 -
