So tonight, I came home from work and did a workout and then to the kitchen to make a healthy dinner. I had some leftover spaghetti squash, 2.75 cups, in a tupperware that I planned to add 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce (one serving) and some chicken. For some reason, as I was gathering everything, I grabbed my iPhone and began entering my Food Diary items for the day. Although I ate healthy at all meals, I discovered that I would go over my daily calories with this dinner. Oh, well, I at first thought; at least it's been healthy and at least you are eating back your burned exercise calories, I rationalized. Then, I stopped and decided to just put half of the spaghetti squash on a plate and add half the chicken breast. Wow! I was amazed to see that the 1.25 cups of spaghetti squash filled the plate and that three oz of chicken sliced covered the top of the squash with the added bonus of bringing me back below my daily calorie goal. It was a filling meal and made me realize that in the past I would have just added the sauce to the tupperware and popped the whole thing into the microwave --- and eaten it. Keeping a food diary has really helped me learn portion control! So thank you MFP, thank you!!!

Good luck to all with your fitness goals!
